Are you traveling for the holidays? Maybe you can’t take your cat or dog along with you. The holiday season is the most popular time to hire a pet sitter or a dog walker. The average number of requests can grow by as much as 50% during the holiday season. Many pet care companies recommend that you book your holiday visits before mid November, but may still may have last minute availability!

Start your Search Early
Booking pet care is a process. It takes time to meet and schedule appointments with sitters. Even if you are already a client with a company, don’t wait until the last minute to book your visits. Most pet care companies will be booked early during the holidays. If you want to secure a spot, it is best to book early.
Read Reviews
It is important to book with a reputable company that you can rely on. You don’t want to be thousands of miles away and find out that your pet care provider can no longer cover the services. Research the ratings of the companies in your area and read reviews to get an idea about a company before booking your services. (Check out our client testimonials to learn more about us!)
Schedule a Registration Meeting
Most companies, like us at The Right Fluff, require you to have a Registration Meeting before you can book any services. Be sure to plan so that you have time to meet your sitter before your departure date. This is a great way for your pet to get to know the sitter, and for you to clarify any questions or concerns that you may have about your upcoming trip.
Keep in Mind Holiday Fees
Remember that many companies will charge extra fees or have a specific holiday rate. Be sure to ask your pet care provider about the costs involved during any holiday booking ahead of time so that you can budget accordingly.
If you are going to travel this upcoming holiday season let us know. We would love to help care for your pets!
